Michael Gilbert, Founder
Michael has had an accomplished retail career including global executive leadership positions at three iconic retailers in the specialty and department store space at Gap Inc., American Eagle and Kohl’s. Michael’s progressive career included senior roles in merchandising, product design, development and sourcing in multiple categories functions, markets, channels and business models. In taking a break from retail, Michael is pursuing his passion of trying to make the world a better place, one small step at a time. Michael founded Lumin-us to aid in spreading more positivity, encouragement, and support for young adults; leading to more mental wealth by sharing “bright spots” in our lives. Michael’s other passions are doing anything outdoors, photography, spending time with family, volunteering in the community, and perfecting the world’s greatest pizza.
Missy Dutton, Board Member
Missy Dutton is a Senior Trend Insights Manager at Kohl's Department Store and a passionate futurist. Her 10+ years experience influencing teams to look past the status quo and see future potential has resulted in an overarching personal passion for progress. Additionally, as an avid yogi and mindfulness practitioner, Missy knows that mental health isn't just a trend, but a progressive way forward. Her favorite ways to live mindfully are to journal and meditate regularly, protect quality time with family and friends, and to sit next to a body of water whenever possible!
Jacques Coulliette, Board Member & Secretary
Jacques is an experienced retail executive, having worked with several large retailers over the years. Specializing in Private Brand development, he is currently working with a regional supermarket chain to help develop and change the future of food offerings for today’s customers. Jacques is obsessed with positive change and takes enormous pride in providing the best innovation and energy possible, and to leaving a meaningful and lasting imprint on the world with his interactions. Outside of the office, Jacques recharges his batteries by cooking, hiking & biking, reading, journaling, beach-time, and spending lots of time with the family. Jacques is passionate about advancing peace, justice and social equality in his community, and to exploring commonality between humankind. He’s most fulfilled when he’s able to prioritize healthy options for both his mind and his body, for ultimate well-being, and views quality mental health as a right for every single person.
Max Kelly, Board Member
Max is a senior at Indiana University studying Finance and Business Analytics with a minor in Spanish. Growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Max was very involved with soccer and volunteering in the greater-Milwaukee area before moving to Cleveland, Ohio. After his transition into college, Max began to take a strong interest in finding ways to better his mental health as well as the mental health of others. With Lumin-us, Max is thrilled to have the opportunity to create a community through the exciting use of several social media platforms!
Sophie Gilbert, Digital Creator
Sophie is a recent graduate of the American University in Washington, D.C. She has a BA in Public Relations & Strategic Communication with minors in Graphic Design and Marketing. Sophie grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has taken a strong interest in local non-profits Penfield Children’s Center and Feeding America of Eastern Wisconsin. Currently, she is assisting Michael to launch Lumin-us!
In her free time Sophie likes to cook and bake, go on nature walks, explore Milwaukee, travel, take photos, spend time with her family, doodle, craft, and focus on her personal health and well-being. She is excited to use her creative skills to build and promote Lumin-us, and spread mental wealth among her peers.
Emmie, K9 Lumin-ator
Emmie is Michael and Sophie’s furry friend, and a loyal member of Lumin-us. She aids our mission by providing moral support and lots of snuggles. She is one of our many bright spots.
